Everton star confident of beating Chelsea: This is why
MORGAN SCHNEIDERLIN insists Everton's impressive home form can help them defeat Premier League leaders Chelsea on Sunday (2.05pm).
Morgan Schneiderlin confident of home win against Chelsea
Everton have lost just one of their 17 Premier League games at Goodison Park this season and are in sixth in the table, six points behind Manchester City in fourth having played two games more.
And while Schneiderlin is expecting a difficult visit of Chelsea this weekend, the midfielder insists Everton can beat anyone on home soil.
Chelsea spanked Everton 5-0 at Stamford Bridge earlier this season
The Toffees were thumped 5-0 by Chelsea at Stamford Bridge earlier in the campaign, but the former Man United midfielder is expecting a tighter match this time out.
"Chelsea are a difficult team to beat but we are a match to anyone at home," Schneiderlin told Sky Sports.
"When we play at our top at Goodison, no one can beat us. It will be hard for them on Sunday and we won't let them breathe, or have any space on the pitch."
Chelsea's lead was cut to four points last night after second-placed Tottenham beat Crystal Palace 1-0, and Schneiderlin believes Spurs will continue to pile on the pressure until the end of the season.
"Tottenham are a very strong team and, if Chelsea slip, they will be there," the Frenchman added. "Chelsea can't afford to lose and let points slip because there's a lion chasing them."
