Wilshere, on loan at Bournemouth, was forced off in the second half of Saturday's 4-0 defeat to Tottenham following a challenge with Harry Kane.
The England international was taunted by the Spurs supporters at White Hart Lane as he hobbled off the pitch.
Scans have since revealed the injury-plagued 25-year-old, who played 27 games for Bournemouth, has fractured a bone in his fibula.

And Arsenal manager Wenger was upset to see Wilshere suffer another injury setback.
Wenger said: "I have not spoken to him recently. I follow the situation closely, he sees a specialist.
"It’s a very simple fracture. We need patience and let’s hope it all goes well.
"Until the end of the season he is a Bournemouth player. We have a good understanding with the medical staff.
"I felt sad [to see him injured]. Jack is a great player and has a great football brain but his career has been stopped by many injuries.
"Today, at the top level, the most important thing is the consistency of the player.
"Players at the top like [Cristiano] Ronaldo play 50 or 60 games a year. They have luck to not be stopped by injuries."
