Chelsea legend Didier Drogba clinches deal: He’s become the first player to do this
CHELSEA legend Didier Drogba will become co-owner of American club Phoenix Rising.

The 39-year-old striker, who left MLS side Montreal Impact in October, plans to play on for one more season before taking on his new role in the boardroom at Phoenix.
In doing so, Drogba will become the first player/owner of a club.
Speaking about the latest chapter of his career, Drogba said: “It is a very exciting opportunity because it’s a good transition.

Phoenix, who are in their fourth season in the Western Conference of USL, have ambitions to become an MLS side over the next few years.
Drogba attained legendary status at Chelsea, scoring 157 goals in 341 appearances, collecting four Premier League titles and the Champions League.
