The Senegal international has been ruled out for the remainder of the season following the clash with Everton left-back Leighton Baines.
However, the 25-year-old had good news to share with the Liverpool supporters, confirming the operation had been a success.

"It’s great that I have received so many encouraging messages from fans around the world, particularly on social media," Mane said.
"It makes me proud and gives me so much power that so many supporters of Liverpool and Senegal give me such great support.
"I’d like to say thank you to everyone.
"I will give my very best after yesterday’s successful surgery to be back on the pitch as soon as possible and be even better than before."
Mane had been on fire for Liverpool prior to the injury, scoring 13 goals and providing eights assists in all competitions.
The former Southampton man is expected to be sidelined for around eight weeks and will be ready for the 2017/18 season.
