Gary Neville: These two teams are not good enough for a top-four finish
MANCHESTER UNITED and Arsenal will fall short of finishing in the top four, according to Gary Neville.
Gary Neville makes top four prediction at start of season
The race for the top four is hotting up as we approach the final eight games of the Premier League season.
Chelsea and Tottenham look assured of their place in the Champions League for the 2017/18 campaign.
But a four-way battle between Manchester United, Arsenal, Manchester City and Liverpool is still raging.
And despite the Gunners and United having games in hand over their rivals, Gary Neville thinks they will both miss out on the top four this term.
Gary Neville thinks Manchester United and Arsenal will miss out on the top four
Jose Mourinho's Manchester United have been too inconsistent, says Gary Neville
"I think it will be the current top four – Chelsea, Tottenham, Liverpool and Manchester City," Neville told Sky Sports.
"It was inconceivable to think that Chelsea were going to go the whole season without dropping points.
"They will drop more points before the end of the season, there’s no doubt about that because they have some tough fixtures coming up.
"But can the others capitalise and are they capable of going on the run required to be able to catch them?
"Liverpool’s fixtures are better.
Arsenal and Manchester United will fall short of top four
"Arsenal and Man United will fall short, but I do think United will win the Europa League.
"So many of the United games, they should have won and could have won. They just haven’t got that killer instinct to kill teams off.
"They make it so difficult for themselves to get in the top four.
"If you look at the fixtures they’ve got, it is so tough. I think too many mistakes have been made."
