Pochettino, 45, is on the wanted list of the Argentina Football Federations wanted list to replace Edgardo Bauza who is set to be sacked on Monday.

And they could turn to Pochettino if they lose a tug of war with Barcelona for the services of Sevilla boss Jorge Sampaoli whom is the first choice at the Nou Camp to replace Luis Enrique.

The former centre half won 20 international caps was wanted last summer after the shock departure of Gerardo Martino until Bauza was appointed instead.
