Arsene Wenger offered another job despite wanting to stay as Arsenal manager
ARSENE WENGER has been offered the Paris Saint-Germain job - should he quit Arsenal this summer.
PSG have reportedly offered Arsene Wenger a contract
Express Sport understands Arsenal manager Wenger is keen to remain in charge of the north London club.
Wenger is waiting for the opportune moment to confirm a contract renewal, with his current deal expiring this summer.
But the Daily Star claim PSG have already made an offer to the Frenchman in case he changes his mind.
According to the report, PSG are keen to secure Wenger’s services after a mixed debut season for current boss Unai Emery.
Emery took over from Laurent Blanc last summer but PSG have struggled this season, crashing out of the Champions League and currently sitting three points off Ligue 1 leaders Monaco.
Arsenal’s board are unlikely to push Wenger out as they know the 67-year-old offers a reasonable amount of stability heading into a period where a number of the club’s top players are facing the end of their contracts.
Arsenal fans have protested against Wenger remaining at the club
Unai Emery has only been in charge of PSG since last summer
However, there is a growing swell of fan discontent regarding Wenger, whose Arsenal side sit sixth in the Premier League and risk missing out on the Champions League for the first time in nearly two decades.
Wenger refused to be drawn on his future yesterday as he prepares his Gunners players for tomorrow’s crunch home tie against Manchester City (4pm).
As for Emery, his PSG side face Monaco in the Coupe de la Ligue final tonight (8pm) in Lyon.
