Manchester United send message to former player sold by Louis van Gaal
MANCHESTER UNTIED have congratulated their former academy player Michael Keane after he made his England debut.
Manchester United congratulate Michael Keane on first England cap
Manchester United sold Keane to Burnley for just £2million in 2015 after the 24-year-old failed to break into Louis van Gaal's first team.
And he's since become one of the hottest prospects in the Premier League, with the likes of Chelsea and Everton said to be interested in the centre-half.
Michael Keane impressed against Germany
Keane has played every minute of Burnley's 29 league games this season, and his impressive performances earned him a call up to Gareth Southgate's latest England squad.
He started in a back three - alongside Chris Smalling and Gary Cahill - to earn his first cap in last night's 1-0 defeat to Germany.
And after the Westfalenstadion clash, Keane's boyhood club posted a message on their official website to congratulate him.

"The Burnley defender had the first shot of the game when he fired over the bar. He played in a central defensive three alongside Smalling and Gary Cahill."
