Former Liverpool player Ray Houghton told BBC Radio 5 Live: "Devastating news. He was such a key member of Liverpool for so many years. He would have done anything for the club. He loved everything about Liverpool Football Club. We knew him as 'Bugsy'.
"He loved being at the training every day. The two words I remember at Liverpool were attitude and commitment. I got that from Ronnie. He could be tough. I remember when we won the league, he went around with a box of medals asking who had played enough games to deserve one. That was his way, forget what you'd did in the past.
"I learned so much from him and he nurtured so many good players. A very humble man and a very honest one."
He was walking around Melwood everyday !! He couldn't be far from the pitch where he belonged. @LFC greatest Ronnie Moran RIP.

Moran then spent more than 30 years on the coaching staff at Anfield.
He managed his boyhood club for 10 games in 1991 when Kenny Dalglish resigned, before being replaced by Graeme Souness.
In 1992, he became caretaker manager again when Souness underwent heart surgery.
As a player and coach, Moran won 13 league titles, four European Cups, two UEFA Cups, five FA Cups and five League Cups at Anfield.
