The Arsenal playmaker has picked up a hamstring problem and has been withdrawn from Germany's squad for Wednesday's friendly in Dortmund (7.45pm).
The 28-year-old has not featured in Arsenal's last two Premier League outings through illness.

Ozil is joined by Paris Saint-Germain forward Julian Draxler (hamstring) and Wolfsburg striker Mario Gomez (groin).
Germany had already confirmed goalkeeper Manuel Neuer would not feature in the Westfalenstadion clash due to a calf complaint.

"Neuer has reported injured, it's the same with Ozil and Draxler," said Germany boss Joachim Low.
"They have minor hamstring injuries but it is too much of a risk to play them. Gomez has a groin injury."
