PAUL MERSON is predicting a high-scoring game when Manchester City host Liverpool this evening (4.30pm).
Paul Merson reckons Manchester City will make most of home advantage
Liverpool, who sit fourth in the Premier League, can leapfrog third-place Manchester City if they claim all three points at the Etihad.
The Reds thumped City 4-1 in Manchester last season, but Merson reckons Pep Guardiola's side will make the most of their home advantage this time round.
Liverpool and Manchester City go head to head at the Etihad
The former Arsenal striker is confident both sets of supporters will be treated to five goals this evening.
Merson told Sky Sports: "This will be a hard game. I remember last year Liverpool went there and dismantled them and ripped them apart.
"And I think City's Champions League exit at the hands of Monaco on Wednesday was a major blow.
"But I cannot see anything other than goals in this game. I think it will be a very high-scoring football match.
"And I am going to go 3-2 to Man City - I am just going to go with home advantage here, that is all I can really go on."
