LIVERPOOL reportedly tried to sign Chelsea pair Willian and Diego Costa.

Willian and Costa joined Chelsea in 2013 and 2014 respectively, costing a combined £62million.
And according to The Telegraph, the pair were both approached by Liverpool about potential moves before opting for Stamford Bridge.

The newspaper suggests Liverpool offered the Brazil-born duo just as much, if not better terms, to choose Anfield.
Willian and Costa, both 28, were both crucial in helping Chelsea to the Premier League title and League Cup in the 2014/15 season under Jose Mourinho.
And they're on track for another Premier League winners' medal as Chelsea sit 10 points clear at the top of the table with 12 games remaining.

Costa is Chelsea's leading scorer this season, with 17 goals in 28 appearances, while Willian has had to settle for a bit-part role.
The former Shakhtar Donetsk winger has started just two of Chelsea's last seven league games, with Antonio Conte currently favouring Pedro in attack.
