Danny Welbeck: This Arsenal star helped me get through my latest injury
DANNY WELBECK has revealed Arsenal captain Per Mertesacker helped him get through his most recent long-term injury layoff.

Welbeck has just returned to action for Arsenal after recovering from a knee injury sustained against Manchester City back in May.
The England international, who also spent most of the previous campaign on the sidelines, was joined in the treatment room by Mertesacker in pre-season.
The German World Cup winner damaged ligaments in a pre-season game and is yet to make an appearance this term.

And Welbeck has revealed how the Gunners defender boosted his spirits during his rehabilitation.
"Obviously we both had long-term knee injuries," Welbeck told Arsenal's YouTube channel.
"It's difficult to put this guy into words. He just lifts the whole atmosphere up in the dressing room.

"And I think he helped me a lot.
"He's always there talking to you, giving you advice, asking you how you're feeling.
"I think once you're injured it can be quite a dark place, but Per was one of the reasons that kept me smiling."
