Man United News: Club insider on Rooney exit plan, summer casualty, striker statement
EXPRESS SPORT brings you the latest news and gossip coming out of Old Trafford.
Wayne Rooney - 5 things you need to know
Wayne Rooney could leave Manchester United before the end of the month, according to reports.
The 31-year-old hasn’t played for United since their 4-0 FA Cup win over Wigan last month.
He has been heavily linked with a move to the Chinese Super League, with their transfer window closing next week.
And according to the Daily Mirror, Rooney could seal an exit and pocket around £750,000 a week.
A club source told the paper: “Everything remains totally amicable. We are well aware of what Wayne has done for the club and he appreciates the career he’s had here.
“But sometimes it’s best for all the parties concerned to look at where we stand and plan a way forward that works for everyone.”

Daley Blind's Manchester United future is far from secure
I try to be as good as possible to make them happy, to satisfy them
Jose Mourinho is reportedly prepared to let Daley Blind leave in the summer.
The Portuguese tactician is preparing a massive overhaul at the end of the season.
And The Sun suggest Blind will be the first high-profile casualty.
It is thought no new deal is in the offing for the Dutchman, who earns £130,000 a week.
The report suggests the former Ajax star could leave, which could pave a move for January target Victor Lindelof.
Anthony Martial insists he wants to stay at Manchester United
Anthony Martial has declared he wants to stay at Manchester United for years to come.
The Frenchman, who was linked with a move away from Old Trafford last month, has been marginalised by Mourinho this term.
But ahead of the second leg of United’s Europa League last-32 tie against Saint-Etienne, Martial has rubbished speculation over his future.
“I love this club, I love Manchester United, I love the Manchester United fans, they give me a lot of job and I really enjoy having them backing me," Martial said.
"I try to be as good as possible to make them happy, to satisfy them. What I want is to stay at this club for as long as possible."
