Arsene Wenger’s decision to start David Ospina in favour of Petr Cech against Bayern Munich has shocked Arsenal’s players, according to reports.
Arsenal travel to the Allianz Arena for the first leg of their last-16 showdown with Bayern tomorrow night (7.45pm).
And Wenger is set to stick to his policy of playing No 2 keeper David Ospina in the Champions League, having started him in all six group matches.
This is despite No 1 Petr Cech being the only Champions League winner in the Gunners squad.
The Mirror say Wenger’s controversial decision has surprised Arsenal’s other senior players because Cech is one of the biggest and most experienced characters in the team.
Mesut Ozil is reportedly under growing pressure from inside the Arsenal dressing room.
The Daily Mail claim some of Ozil’s team-mates are disappointed by his level of application and believe he has received preferrential treatment from boss Wenger.
Wenger admitted after Arsenal’s 2-0 win over Hull on Saturday that the Germany international was low on confidence.
