Brady’s delight at scoring a superb free-kick on his Burnley debut against Chelsea on Sunday was tempered by a scrappy overall personal performance that saw him substituted after 64 minutes.

“The goal was something you dream about but I don’t think the performance was. I wasn’t fantastic. I was a bit disappointed with that but I’m still gelling in and learning the way the lads play.
“I’m over the moon with the goal and I’ll take it if the lads can cover me on the mistakes I made.
"Joey [Barton] said to me after that ‘I’ve no problem doing your running if you can keep doing that!’
“But I’m here to work hard and show what I’m about. I didn’t get to do that the way I wanted to against Chelsea but I ended up with a goal that led to a good result so I’m happy enough.”
