Ray Wilkins: Why Chelsea must not sell this player
RAY WILKINS wants Diego Costa to stay at Chelsea as he is a "throw-back" to the good old days of robust, aggressive strikers.
Diego Costa called out on his opinion of media
Diego Costa has been a leading star in Chelsea's rise to the top of the Premier League this season but was linked with a move to China last month.
He has hit top form after a disastrous campaign last term in which his dip in performances contributed to Chelsea finishing 10th in their Premier League title defence.
The Spain international arrived at the club as a replacement for Didier Drogba, who departed after playing a season alongside Costa.
He ruffles everyone's feathers and is good to watch
And Wilkins believes Drogba, who won the Champions League and four Premier League titles with Chelsea, remains the Blues' greatest ever centre-forward.
But the former Chelsea caretaker boss is hopeful Costa remains at the west London side and on-day emulates Drogba and club legend Peter Osgood.
"I hope so," Wilkins said on talkSPORT when asked Drogba for me was the best centre-forward Chelsea ever had.

Ray Wilkins says Costa could emulate Drogba and Peter Osgood's standing at Chelsea
"Peter Osgood is a great favourite of the Chelsea fans but Drogba, for what he achieved and the goals scored, was fantastic.
"Costa is a throw-back (to the old school). He beats up centre-halves.
"He ruffles everyone's feathers and is good to watch.
"You can see when it gets tight for Chelsea he's looking to upset someone, get the crowd going. He's a good footballer."
