Confirmed: Liverpool complete January transfer
TIAGO ILORI has joined Reading from Liverpool for an undisclosed fee.
Tiago Ilori has left Liverpool to join Reading
The 23-year-old has been closing in on a move away form Liverpool to the Championship club over the last few weeks.
And the defender has now signed a three-and-a-half-year contract with the Royals.
Tiago Ilori failed to make an impression on loan at Aston Villa last season
Reading boss Jaap Stam said: “Tiago is the type of defender a lot of people like - his technical skill, passing ability, pace, quality and physique.
"We always want players with those attributes within our squad.
“In this league, with all the games we need to play, you never know what’s going to happen with injuries and suspensions – so it’s also important we have options and the chance to rotate."
Ilori joined Liverpool from Sporting Lisbon in 2013 for around £7million.
But the defender failed to make a first team appearance while at Anfield.
He spent last season on loan at Aston Villa, while he also had spells at Granada and Bordeaux.
