LOUIS VAN GAAL has announced he is retiring from coaching due to family reasons.

After a 26-year career that saw him manage some of Europe’s top clubs, including Manchester United, Barcelona and Bayern Munich, Van Gaal has called it a day.
Van Gaal has been without a job since he was sacked by United last May, despite guiding the Red Devils to an FA Cup triumph.
There were supposedly offers to continue coaching in the Far East.

The 65-year-old Dutchman, who also coached the Holland national team, made the decision to quit management after receiving a lifetime award from the Netherlands government for his services to football.
On his decision to retire, Van Gaal cited family reasons and claimed he didn’t take it lightly.
“I thought maybe I would stop, then I thought it would be a sabbatical, but now I do not think I will return to coaching,” he told Dutch paper De Telegraaf.

Van Gaal won league titles in three different countries during his decorated managerial career.
