CHELSEA have made a bid for Bayer Leverkusen midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu, according to reports in Turkey.

Chelsea are in the market for a new attacking midfielder after selling Oscar to Chinese Super League side Shanghai SIPG for £60million.
And Blues boss Antonio Conte has made a surprise bid for Leverkusen star Calhanoglu, a source close to the player has reportedly told Turkish Football.
The Turkey international joined Leverkusen in 2014 for £11.5m and has scored five goals in all competitions this season.

Antonio Conte has money available after Oscar's move to China
Calhanoglu's current contract doesn't run out until 2019 but Conte has targeted him as the ideal replacement for Oscar.
Chelsea, Manchester United and Barcelona have sent scouts to watch the 22-year-old and he recently spoke about the transfer speculation.
“Barcelona and Manchester United are huge clubs, it would be difficult to turn them down," he said.

“But I have not said anything about any transfers or anything of the sort.”
The report by Turkish Football suggests Leverkusen are unlikely to allow their star midfielder leave in this transfer window with a summer move more likely.
