Rooney equals Bobby Charlton's record with historic goal
Wayne Rooney, who equalled Sir Bobby Charlton’s scoring record of 249 goals for United in yesterday’s 4-0 FA Cup win over Reading, is under contract until 2019.
And Jose Mourinho insists the handling of players’ contracts is the responsibility of executive-vice chairman Ed Woodward.
Mourinho said: “I don’t even know his [Rooney] current deal. I am not worried with my players’ contracts.

“I leave this to Mr. Woodward to deal with.”
The England captain was the subject of offers from Chinese Super League clubs in the summer but he opted to stay at Old Trafford.
Rooney, who earns £300,000 a week, has received his fair share of criticism of late, that has seen him take up a regular role on the bench.

But Mourinho insists the striker will be given game time if he continues to show desire to play.
“How long has he got? I don’t know, it depends on him, especially on his brain, on his desire,” Mourinho added.
“I think everything is about desire, that’s more important than anything else, so if he keeps his motivation he can play on.”
Rooney will be hoping he’s given the chance to net his 250th goal for the club when Manchester United take on Hull in the semi-final first leg of the EFL Cup on Tuesday (8pm).
