Jose Mourinho is keen to strengthen his defensive options at Manchester United, despite the good form of Phil Jones and Marcos Rojo.
Benfica centre-half Lindelof has been heavily linked with a £38million move to Old Trafford.
Only last month, Lindelof was pictured signing shirts for the fans.
Reports yesterday suggested United made a £32.5m bid for Roma’s Kostas Manolas, with a move for Lindelof faltering.

I know he is hot on the market so let him make the right choice for him
A deal appeared to be off after a legal dispute between Benfica and Lindelof’s former club Vasteras over bonus payments.
But Swedish paper Expressen now claim that issue has been dealt with.
It is thought Lindelof could take the number two shirt if he moves to United.
Red Devils hitman Zlatan Ibrahimovic has been rather complimentary of Lindelof, claiming he is good enough for United.

“Is he good enough for United? I think he is ready for the big clubs out there," Ibrahimovic said.
“It is up to him what he wants and what the situation says.
