West Ham boss Slaven Bilic opens up about Sofiane Feghouli's successful red card appeal
SLAVEN BILIC has welcomed the decision to overturn the red card shown to Sofiane Feghouli against Manchester United – but is frustrated that it is now six of his games in charge of the club that could have been ruined by the on-field official.
Slaven Bilic is frustrated with the amount of appeals West Ham have made over red cards
Incredibly, four of the last five West Ham players to be sent off have won their appeals – and on top of that twice last season video panels issued retrospective bans against opposition players who should have been given their marching orders at the time.
“I was happy yesterday when I heard the news but then it is four times - it is kind of a record,” he said. “It’s good that the committee that it wasn’t a red card, very happy about it, but it is four games when a decision was clearly against us.
Sofiane Feghouli had his red card against Manchester United rescinded by the FA
“When you add on top of that a couple of times minimum when the players were punished after the game or banned - like Bastian Schweinsteiger against Manchester United last season or Sergio Aguero this season against Manchester City – that is six games basically.
“It is a lot. But at least we’ve got Feghouli available for the games.”
