JERMAIN DEFOE should quit Sunderland for one final move to West Ham, believes Chris Sutton.
Kevin Kilbane: Defoe and Januzaj had an excellant work-rate
West Ham are said to be eyeing a £6million deal to sign their former player Defoe.
The 34-year-old remains one of the top strikers in the Premier League despite his age, having scored 11 goals for Sunderland this season.
And Sutton, who won the Premier League with Blackburn in 1995, believes Defoe should take his chance to leave the Stadium of Light.
Even if West Ham have to spend £10m it is smart business
“I can’t see why Defoe would want to stay at Sunderland," Sutton wrote in his Daily Mail column.
“The club is up for sale and David Moyes has little money to spend.
"Defoe is not getting any younger and has the chance to return to the club where it all started for him.

Defoe boasts 11 goals for the season so far
West Ham supposedly valued Defoe at £6m
“He may have to front up to Moyes and force the deal through himself – and Sunderland can hold out for a reasonable fee.
"West Ham have lacked a goalscorer and may have to pay over the odds.
“But even if they have to spend £10m it is smart business.
"Defoe would guarantee that West Ham stay up comfortably and will be useful for at least another season or two.”
