Republic of Ireland fans singing & Shane Long is on Fire at Euro 2016 in France
West Ham have struggled for goals this season, with on-loan striker Simone Zaza yet to score in the Premier League.
Andy Carroll has returned for the Hammers but manager Slaven Bilic is supposedly seeking a strike partner to accompany the former Liverpool frontman.
And the Mail on Sunday claim Bilic has earmarked Long as a viable option for the Hammers.
According to the report, West Ham will push to sign either Long or Brentford’s Scott Hogan if their primary target Jermain Defoe refuses to leave Sunderland.
Defoe has admitted he is flattered by reports linking him back to his former club.
But Sunderland are unlikely to let their star striker leave during a relegation battle.

Long scored his first Southampton goal of the season in yesterday’s 2-1 defeat to West Brom.
The Ireland international had not found the net for his club since May 1.
Along with Zaza, West Ham signed Manchester United youngster Ashley Fletcher last summer but he has failed to make much of an impact at London Stadium.
