Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho: This is why I left out Wayne Rooney
MANCHESTER UNITED boss Jose Mourinho has revealed Wayne Rooney picked up a knock in training yesterday which means he misses today's clash with Sunderland.

Rooney arrived at Old Trafford separately from his team-mates.
And when the line-ups were announced at 3pm, the Manchester United captain wasn’t included in the 18-man squad.

United’s official Twitter account then tweeted: “Jose Mourinho has explained Wayne Rooney felt something in training yesterday & it was decided it was best for him not to play today.”
The 31-year-old had started the previous two games after being an unused sub against Tottenham.
