DIDI HAMANN believes whoever loses the Merseyside derby will be sent "into the mire again".

Liverpool travel to Everton on Monday night seeking to regain ground in the Premier League title race.
Everton themselves have slipped recently and only ended a five-game run without a win with Tuesday's 2-1 result over Arsenal.
They sit eighth in the Premier League - 10 points off fourth-place Manchester City - while Liverpool are six behind leaders Chelsea, who play tomorrow.

And Hamann thinks there is more importance than usual in this first Merseyside derby of the season.
"There’s a lot at stake on Monday night," Hamann told the Paddy Power blog.
"The fact that both teams are bouncing back after a little blip puts some extra emphasis on the game.

"Not only in the teams, but also around either the red or the blue half of the city.
"Everton got a great result coming from behind to beat Arsenal 2-1, but that was only their second win in 12 games.
"Liverpool were convincing 3-0 winners at Middlesbrough on Wednesday but they dropped points to West Ham and Bournemouth before that.
"Whoever wins on Monday, could put the other team into the mire again."
