Chelsea boss Antonio Conte discusses Eden Hazard’s injury
CHELSEA boss Antonio Conte has moved to downplay concerns about Eden Hazard’s injury.
Sunderland v Chelsea - Premier League Match Preview
Eden Hazard will miss Chelsea’s trip to Sunderland tonight (7.45pm) after picking up a knock during their 1-0 win over West Brom on Sunday.
Blues boss Antonio Conte has brought in Willian to replace Hazard, who is expected to return in time to face Crystal Palace on Saturday.
And Conte has admitted the Belgium international was not fit enough to face the struggling Black Cats.
“Eden got a knock in his knee and now he is injured,” Conte said.
"I don’t think [it’s anything to be concerned about].
“[But] He couldn’t play this game.”
Conte has handed a start to Cesc Fabregas, who impressed in the 3-1 win at Manchester City earlier this month.
Nemanja Matic makes way for Fabregas, with Conte adding: “Fabregas for Matic and Willy for Eden, normal rotation for Matic.”
