Arsenal ace wants end-of-season talks over future: Why team-mate’s priority is a problem
DAVID OSPINA is reportedly preparing for showdown talks at the end of the season with Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger.
Wenger hails Ospina after PSG draw
The Gunners’ back-up goalkeeper has had to settle with being Petr Cech’s understudy at the Emirates over the past 18 months.
And although the 28-year-old is guaranteed game time in the Champions League and FA Cup, Ospina wants more regular action.
According to the Mirror, the 2018 World Cup is playing a big role in the shot-stopper’s desire for discussions.
David Ospina has made just four Premier League appearances for Arsenal since Petr Cech's arrival
Ospina - valued at £6.5m - could look for a future elsewhere
It is said Ospina feels he is in need of more regular appearances for his club to keep his international place for Colombia’s qualifiers.
The tournament in Russia could be the Arsenal man’s last chance of featuring on the biggest stage at a World Cup.
As a result, if Arsene Wenger cannot convince Ospina he will get enough opportunities at the Emirates next term, the keeper will apparently assess his options come May.
While Cech is now 34, the Chelsea legend is showing no signs of slowing down between the sticks, suggesting Ospina - valued at £6.5m - could look for a future elsewhere.

He remains happy to stay in January though due to Arsenal’s progressions to the Champions League knockout stages.
And he could enjoy an FA Cup run with the third round draw tomorrow evening.
Ospina is set to start for Arsenal on Tuesday when Wenger’s side travel to Basle for their final game of the group stage in Europe.
