The 24-year-old was heavily linked with a move away from the Bundesliga side in the summer with both Arsenal and Chelsea reportedly interested.
Wolfsburg currently sit just two points above the relegation zone after picking up just two wins so far this season.
And Italian outlet Calcio Mercato claim Arsenal are keeping tabs on his situation.

It is claimed the Gunners rate the left-back highly and are the frontrunners for his signature as they look to find a long-term successor to Nacho Monreal.
Chelsea manager Antonio Conte was reportedly keen on signing Rodriguez in the last transfer window, but instead opted for Marcos Alonso.
But any speculation linking him with a move away from Wolfsburg has been quashed by his agent Gianluca Di Domenico, who insists he is staying put.
Rodriguez has been eyed as a replacement for Nacho Monreal at Arsenal

“Ricardo is usually the object of transfer speculation, but it’s time to put an end to these stories,” Di Domenico said.
“Ricardo is only focused on Wolfsburg.”
Rodriguez has made 14 appearances across all competitions for Wolfsburg this season, scoring one goal and is contracted to the club until the summer of 2019.
