The Daily Mail claim United could be hit financially if they don’t make the Champions League.
It is thought they would lose out on £40m for failing to reach Europe’s elite competition.
More worryingly, United’s 10-year kit deal with Adidas worth £750m could be cut by 30 per cent.
The sports manufacturer, it is believed, clearly stated in the contract that they wouldn’t accept no Champions League football for two consecutive seasons.

Meanwhile, it is believed United’s debt has risen by 18 per cent to £337.7m under the Glazer family.

Mourinho will be worried to ensure there isn’t a repeat.
