Arsenal went ahead inside the first 15 minutes after Alexis Sanchez latched onto an errant back-pass from Steve Cook.
Bournemouth then went level with a penalty converted by Callum Wilson, but the Gunners were soon back in front with a header from Walcott after the restart.
Sanchez rounded off the win by adding a second in added time to make it 3-1.

However, the Chile international seemed more concerned about getting home to his two Golden Retrievers rather than savouring the win.
“Thank you so much. I’m so happy with my two goals but the team’s mentality is strong, so congratulations," Sanchez told Sky Sports.
“The mentality in the Premier League is very difficult so we have to continue the same.
“I’m so happy for my friend [Theo Walcott] and for the team, and now I go home to my dogs.”

Sanchez is not the only Arsenal player with a love for dogs, as Mesut Ozil and Jack Wilshere often share instagram posts with their Pugs.
Ozil revealed last year how his dog Balboa help him overcome his fear of man's best friend.
"I have one dog, his name is Balboa. I got it as a puppy, raised it and have overcome my fear. Now, I love dogs," he said.
