Manchester United kept their hopes of reaching the knockout stages of the Europa League alive with a 4-0 thumping of Feyenoord last night.
Wayne Rooney, Juan Mata and Jesse Lingard got on the scoresheet with an own goal from former Liverpool goalkeeper Brad Jones compounding the visitors' misery.
But Ferdinand has praised former team-mates Pogba and Carrick on Twitter.
"Carrick alongside Pogba," the former United defender said with fire emojis.

Ferdinand has long believed Carrick is the key to getting the best out of Pogba.
Pogba has struggled since returning to Old Trafford from Juventus for £89million in the summer, but has shown signs of improvement with Carrick alongside him.
"The last couple of managers havent fancied Carrick…i really dont get it at all…his game never relied on pace either," Ferdinand tweeted last month.
He was referring to the veteran's omission from Mourinho's squad for the goalless draw with Burnley at Old Trafford.

Carrick could be dropped for Sunday's clash with West Ham (4:30pm).
The former England international turned 35 in July and Mourinho has gone on record to say he needs to be used mindfully this season.
"I would love to play him every game but that is not possible," he said last month.
"Why? For the same reason that I cannot go to the gym every day any more."
