Chelsea, who lost 3-0 to the Gunners back in September, reverted to a 3-4-3 under Antonio Conte and have since embarked on a six-match winning streak to guide them to the top of the Premier League table.
And Ferdinand sees no reason why Spurs shouldn't go the same way as Chelsea on a more permanent basis.
“I saw Tottenham against Arsenal at Emirates. That was the best I saw them play this season,” Ferdinand said.
“They looked like a team that play three at the back and they certainly have the players to do that.

“They already have three ready-made centre halves.
“Harry Kane up there is the talisman to score the goals and I think the system would suit them.”
Tottenham were left reeling last night after Monaco beat them 2-1 in their Champions League group game to knock them out of the competition.
Pochettino’s men will be seeking redemption when they face Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Saturday (5:30pm).
