Arsene Wenger: Why Alexis Sanchez won’t ruin Olivier Giroud’s Arsenal prospects
ARSENE WENGER is convinced he can accommodate Olivier Giroud and Alexis Sanchez in his Arsenal first team.
Olivier Giroud - 5 things you need to know
Sanchez started and played the full 90 minutes of Arsenal’s 1-1 draw away to Manchester United yesterday.
Giroud, who missed the start of the season through injury, has been kept out of Wenger’s starting XI by the Chilean.
But Giroud proved his worth by coming off the bench to cancel out Juan Mata’s opener a minute from time - a towering header from Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain’s cross.

Alexis Sanchez has spearheaded Arsenal's attack for most of the season
Despite concerns over his long-term prospects, Wenger appears to have put them to bed.
When asked about Giroud battling for a starting berth, Wenger said: “I consider him to be a regular player. He had a long holiday [after the Euros], after that he was injured and now he’s just coming back for a few games.
“It’s true that in the past two games he has been a bit frustrated but that’s normal because he’s ready to go again.
Arsene Wenger has tried to reassure Olivier Giroud over his first-team future
“The solution of Alexis up front has worked well and I have two options at the moment.
“Olivier Giroud is in both options because Alexis can play on the flank. Olivier can only play through the middle, so I can sometimes marry the two together.”
Arsenal remain in fourth spot courtesy of their result at Old Trafford.
