LIVERPOOL playmaker Philippe Coutinho is reportedly a doubt for the trip to Southampton.

The 24-year-old returned to Merseyside on Wednesday night after flying back from international duty.
Following Brazil's 2-0 World Cup qualifying win in Peru, Coutinho travelled back along with team-mate Roberto Firmino.
The attacking pair did not take part in training at Melwood today after their long journey back.

And according to the Liverpool Echo, Coutinho's fitness is under serious question ahead of the Premier League game at St Mary's on Saturday (3pm).
It is claimed Coutinho went to the city's Spire Hospital on Thursday afternoon to undergo a scan.
The Liverpool star was photographed at the hospital, giving Jurgen Klopp a potential selection worry at Southampton.
Former Saints midfielder Adam Lallana (groin) is also a major doubt after he hobbled off for England against Spain on Tuesday.

And the absence of Coutinho would also be a big blow for Klopp, whose side are looking to stay top of the Premier League table this weekend.
The Brazil international played 170 minutes of football in their two matches, so the scan is likely to have just been precautionary.
If Liverpool boss Klopp opts not to risk Coutinho's long-term fitness by bringing him back too soon, Georginio Wijnaldum and Daniel Sturridge are expected alternatives.
