Gazzetta dello Sport claim Mourinho wants Belotti
And Torino are hoping that the fee will deter United long enough to convince Belotti to remain in Italy.
That is according to Italian newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, who claim Torino want to renew Belotti's contract soon.
The forward has burst onto the international scene this year, scoring three goals in five outings.
Torino reportedly value Belotti at £43m
Belotti already boasts three goals for Italy after making his debut this year
He also boasts eight goals for Torino, who sit seventh in Serie A and who signed Belotti from Palermo last summer.
United are supposedly seeking a new goal threat as they struggle to keep apace with the Premier League title challengers.
Veteran forward Zlatan Ibrahimovic only recently ended a drought of just one goal in 11 appearances, while captain Wayne Rooney is struggling to make it into Mourinho's XI.
The report adds that the draw of playing European football for United would be a key factor in Belotti moving on.
