Mark Lawrenson sends transfer warning to Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp
LIVERPOOL legend Mark Lawrenson believes his former club will not be able to keep the likes of Philippe Coutinho from joining a big European club.
Philippe Coutinho's best goals for Liverpool
Spanish publication Sport claim Barcelona are hoping Brazil compatriot Neymar and former Liverpool team-mate Luis Suarez can lure Coutinho to the Nou Camp.
The Liverpool playmaker has caught the attention of the Catalan giants after a stunning start to the season, in which he's scored six goals and provided as many assists.
Mark Lawrenson says Jurgen Klopp will struggle to hold onto his best Liverpool players
Philippe Coutinho has attracted interest from Barcelona
But Lawrenson has urged fans to enjoy the brilliant football the Brazil international and his team-mates are producing which has lifted Jurgen Klopp's side to top of the Premier League.
"Barcelona, Real Madrid, Atletico Madrid to a certain degree, Paris Saint-Germain and Bayern Munich are the clubs continually successful in Europe," Lawrenson said.
"You can't keep those top players if those clubs come in for them. I don't think, apart from arguably Manchester City, anyone can stop them.
"The clever thing is to plan for it. Rather than say 'Coutinho might be going, what are we going to do?' you have something in place already."
