However, the striker is proof that you should never give up on your dreams and tonight he earned his first cap for Spain at the age of 29.
The former Liverpool man came on at half-time to replace Manchester United midfielder Juan Mata.
The Celta star was only called up by Julen Lopetegui due to the unforseen injury to Diego Costa, which forced the striker to return to London early.
Aspas has been in solid form for Celta this season and has scored six goals and provided one assist in 11 La Liga appearances.
