RONALD KOEMAN says Everton midfielder Muhamed Besic is progressing well in his recovery from knee surgery.

The Bosnia international tore his anterior cruciate ligament playing against Manchester United in Wayne Rooney's testimonial in August and was expected to be sidelined for six months.
But Everton manager Koeman has suggested the combative midfielder could return to action sooner than expected.
Muhamed Besic was initially ruled out for six months after undergoing knee surgery
"He's progressing well," Koeman told the Liverpool Echo.
"He's on his way to being back. It's a long-term injury and you need to be patient.
"But the medical staff are really happy with Mo because he has shown a really good professional attitude. That makes it easier to come back."

Besic was limited to just 12 Premier League appearances last season under Roberto Martinez due to separate thigh and hamstring injuries.
