MANCHESTER UNITED captain Wayne Rooney is determined to stay at Old Trafford until 2019, according to reports.

Rooney has struggled for form so far this season, scoring just twice across all competitions.
He has been dropped by manager Jose Mourinho and is no longer guaranteed a place in the Portuguese’s starting line-up.
However, according to the Observer, Rooney has no intention of quitting for pastures new.

Instead, the 31-year-old wants to beat Sir Bobby Charlton’s all-time goal total of 249 and see out his current deal which expires in three years time.
The report also says that Rooney plans to retire from England duty after the 2018 World Cup in Russia - providing Gareth Southgate’s side make it there.
The Manchester United skipper believes he can contribute to his club for the following season despite being marginalised under Mourinho.
