JURGEN KLOPP has admitted the injury to Danny Ings and Sadio Mane’s African Nations Cup commitments will leave Liverpool needing to boost their strikeforce in January.

Ings has been ruled out for the season after undergoing surgery on a knee injury and Mane will be missing for about a month from the new year.
The pair’s absence is likely to see Klopp and new sporting director Michael Edwards dip into the market for either a striker or winger when the transfer window opens.
“We watch the market all the time and we need to be prepared for different situations and one of them is injuries,” said Klopp, whose side host Watford on Sunday.

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has hinted at splashing the cash in January
“The African Nations Cup we already knew about so we don’t need to be influenced or surprised, but it [January] could be a moment when we approach the market.
“It’s not about about how many strikers. Three strikers is enough. But when Sadio is away we will be without a winger. We do not have many wingers.
“Roberto Firmino could play as a kind of a winger which would then just give us two strikers. That’s how it is.”
