United have toiled in recent weeks with a 4-0 drubbing dished out by Chelsea coming after lacklustre draws against Liverpool and Stoke.
However, despite their current woes, Schweinsteiger remains out in the cold.
Mourinho made it clear upon succeeding Louis van Gaal in the summer that Schweinsteiger would be allowed to leave the club, instead building his midfield around the likes of Paul Pogba, Ander Herrera and Marouane Fellaini.
