Celtic star ruled out for rest of the year following freak injury
CELTIC and Scotland have been rocked after defender Kieran Tierney was ruled out for the rest of the year after a freak training ground injury.
Kieran Tierney has been ruled out for the rest of the year
The left-back suffered ankle ligament damage on Thursday and will now miss the remaining Champions League group matches and Scotland’s vital World Cup qualifier against England at Wembley.
Tierney is out for today’s top of the table clash with Aberdeen and the European clashes with Borussia Monchengladbach, Barcelona and Manchester City.
His injury should open the door for Emilio Izaguirre who came in for the midweek win over Ross County.
It is also a setback for Gordon Strachan who is already without Andrew Robertson.
Rangers skipper Lee Wallace is next in line, but Aberdeen’s Graeme Shinnie and Swansea youngster Stephen Kingsley could be called up when Strachan names his squad on Wednesday.
