ARSENE WENGER has warned Alexis Sanchez that he's not going to get any special treatment at Arsenal.
Alexis Sanchez - Spotlight on
The Chilean has long been one of the standout performers for Arsenal in recent seasons and this time round it's no different.
The forward has netted six goals in all competitions for the Gunners and is a regular among Wenger's starting XI.
But Sanchez found himself being subbed in Arsenal's recent wins over Swansea and Ludogorets - a decision the 27-year-old didn't take too kindly too.
Alexis Sanchez has scored six goals for Arsenal this season
He is a player like everybody else. When I decide to take him off, I take him off.
Wenger, however, has explained he is keen to not overwork his star, and has sent a timely reminder to Sanchez that he is the one calling the shots.
“For me he is not a special case," Arsene Wenger said. "He is a player like everybody else. When I decide to take him off, I take him off.
"There is no special case. He has his own character but he is not treated differently from everybody else.
Arsene Wenger's Arsenal take on Sunderland tomorrow
Alexis Sanchez was subbed by Arsene Wenger in their games with Ludogorets and Swansea
"They all recognise it after the game but during the game they want to stay on the pitch. You want to play even when you are tired.
“I tested Sanchez because he played two games in South America. Sometimes I rest him straight away after.
"I played him the other day against Swansea so I thought I would take him off when it is possible. We consider every case individually.”
Sanchez is expected to lead the line against Sunderland tomorrow (12.30pm).
