Sunderland star left red-faced after shocking social media blunder: He actually wrote this
VICTOR ANICHEBE tweeted a rallying cry to Sunderland fans after Saturday's defeat to West Ham - but it went horribly wrong.
Victor Anichebe has made just two substitute appearances for Sunderland since joining in the summer
Sunderland were shellshocked at the London Olympic Stadium on Saturday when Winston Reid's late winner confined the Black Cats to their worst start in the Premier League era.
Anichebe, who has struggled for minutes since joining from West Brom in the summer, was an unused substitute in the 1-0 defeat but tried to connect with fans by tweeting his support for the team.
Unfortunately his good intentions were revealed to be nothing more than a failed attempt at copy and paste.
The Nigerian forward was caught out after his attempting to connect with the Sunderland fans
The tweet read: "Can you tweet something like Unbelievable support yesterday and great effort by the lads! Hard result to take! But we go again!"
The message was seemingly sent by his social media team but the person controlling his Twitter account failed to delete the first five words.
The tweet was swiftly deleted from Anichebe's account but not before the Twittersphere had picked up on the mishap, leaving the 28-year-old with nowhere to hide.
