Manchester United are considering a move for Jose Gimenez
The Atletico Madrid defenders is one of a number of players that has caught Jose Mourinho’s eye.
Reports last month indicated United watched the 21-year-old in Champions League action for his club.
Mourinho is planning on shoring up his defence and is keen to strengthen at right-back, with Monaco’s Fabinho and Everton’s Seamus Coleman on his wishlist.
According to The Sunday Mirror, United are keen to strike a deal for Gimenez, who is thought to be valued at £40m.
This is despite supposedly having a release clause worth £55m.
The same report suggests Arsenal have made enquiries, although Diego Simeone is unlikely to want to part company with his prize asset.
