Gerrard, who spent 17 years on Merseyside, joined LA Galaxy last year.
However, yesterday he posted a message on Instagram that seemed to suggest he could leave the MLS.
The message read: “Living in Los Angeles and playing for the great Galaxy supporters has been a privilege.
“You have made this place feel like home to me. This city and this club will always hold a special place in my heart. Thank you.”
Gerrard and Klopp have been in touch since the midfielder left Anfield.
The 36-year-old even trained at the club’s Melwood base last year during the MLS close season.
