Arsenal ace challenges UFC star Connor McGregor to a fight: This is what he genuinely said
OLIVIER GIROUD may be sleeping with one eye open from now on - after challenging UFC star Conor McGregor to a fight!
Olivier Giroud challenges Conor McGregor to a fight
Arsenal star Giroud has barely been involved for Arsene Wenger’s side this season but returned to training yesterday.
The 30-year-old suffered an injury whilst away with France but has seen his place at Arsenal taken by makeshift striker Alexis Sanchez.
And Giroud may not be any closer to a comeback for Arsenal if Conor McGregor has anything to do about it...
The Gunners striker jokingly challenged McGregor, 28, to a fight during a Q&A with team-mate Laurent Koscielny.
During the interview Koscielny asked his compatriot: “How long would you last against Conor McGregor in a fight in UFC?”
“Oh maybe 10 seconds” Giroud laughed, massively over-rating his own chances in the Octagon.
Olivier Giroud actually looked down the camera and offered Conor McGregor out
Koscielny responded doubtingly: “10 seconds, are you sure?”
Slightly nervously Giroud then said: “I’ve never been in a cage, to fight in UFC."
And conjuring up unfounded confidence out of nowhere, the Arsenal star looked straight down the camera and stated: “It would be nice to fight, so McGregor (winks) when you want."

He then sharply looked down as if the realisation of the huge mistake he just made had dawned on him.
Koscielny, fearing for his team-mate, scratched his shoulder as Giroud made the declaration.
Then the striker came back to his senses and sighed: ‘Okay’ (still looking down) before adding: “I’m dead”.
