Ronaldo spent five years at Real from 2002 to 2007, scoring 105 goals across all competitions to help them to two La Liga titles.
And the former Brazil superstar believes his compatriot Coutinho would be the perfect fit at the Spanish capital.
Speaking on Spanish radio station Onda Cero, Ronaldo admitted: "I would love to see Coutinho at Real Madrid."
The 24-year-old arrived at Liverpool from Inter Milan in 2013 and has established himself as a key part of Jurgen Klopp's side.
Coutinho has previously played down speculation of a La Liga switch after Barcelona were linked with a move in the summer.

"I am already playing in the best league in the world and I have a number of years left on my contract that I only renewed last year.
"I am very happy and my focus is on helping Liverpool fight for trophies."
